- Are there any contract requirements?

Our DSL service requires no contract. We supply DSL service to both consumers and businesses.

- Why are your DSL prices higher than my phone company's?

1) The ROL ISP supports the non-profit activities of the Rastafari Online community. All proceeds go to worthy causes.
2) We've found customers prefer to have more support and service for their Internet connection than they do for their telephone line. We aim to deliver this.
3) Many times DSL providers have offered promo prices to get you in the door and then raise rates after the initial 3, 6 or 12 month period. We do not do this.

NETWORKS

- Where is DSL service available?

ROL DSL service is currently offered on the AT&T, Verizon and Qwest networks. The 10 digit telephone number you use to qualify for service cannot be a cellular phone or VOIP telephone number.

- How do I signup?

You must fill in your 10 digit local telephone number that is currently being serviced as a local telephone line by our current carriers (AT&T, Verizon, or Qwest) and the correct physical address associated with the 10 digit telephone number you provide. Our website will guide you through the process of signing up.

- What do I do if no DSL service is available?

If no DSL service is available then you can still use the dialup access that we have supplied for years. It is necessary for you to have a 10 digit landline that is currently with AT&T, Verizon or Qwest in order to qualify for ROL service. We are expanding our DSL coverage footprint in the future to add the Bellsouth, Covad and Bell Canada areas however no ETA is currently available for these areas.

DSL MODEMS

- How do I get my DSL modem?

If you purchase a DSL modem from us then we will ship it to you with a CD. You would then insert the CD for software and instructions.

- How much do your DSL modems cost?

$59 plus shipping/handling - includes the modem, power supply, 4 micro filters, 1 phone splitter, an Ethernet and a phone cable. We are currently using a US Robotics modem which is a standard ADSL bridge. These specific units are new, and come with a 90 day warranty.

- Can I use my own modem?

Of course, you can. (Technical Specifications Required: MUST be an ADSL modem that supports RFC1483 / Bridge Mode and DMT (g.DMT) VP set to 0 VC set to 35.)

- Can I use a wireless router with your DSL?

Of course, you can. Optionally, you can order a pre-configured 802.11-B/G wireless router to be shipped by us. This is the easiest option for installation of a home network instantly - just plug-and-play!
